The B.S. in Environmental Sciences prepares students for careers in enviromental science and management. Typical employers include local, state and federal government agencies, science and engineering consulting firms, environmental nonprofit organizations, and the environmental management divisions of corporations. The B.S. in Environmental Sciences offers six program options, five of which prepare the student to take a certification exam or to meet additional requirements for professional certification within their respective fields. The sixth option, Cross-Disciplinary, is available for pairing an EVS major with a minor or a double major in a complementary field of study.

Oral Communication Requirement
To satisfy the oral communication requirement for the B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences, a student must successfully complete EVS 495 . Applied Learning Requirement
To satisfy the Applied Learning requirement for the B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences, a student must successfully complete one of the following: a practicum experience in environmental science, EVS 497 (minimum 1 credit); a directed individual study related to EVS in any approved department, such as EVS 491 (minimum 1 credit); an honors project related to EVS in any approved department, such as EVS 499 or HON 499 (6 credits); or a formal student teaching experience (e.g. EDN 411 ). Requirements for a Major in Environmental Sciences for the B.S. Degree
The B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences consists of 79-85 credit hours total, comprised of 42 hours of General Core requirements plus 37-43 hours of Option requirements. A student must select one of seven Options in environmental science: Ecological Restoration and Management, Wildlife Management, Fisheries Management, Wetlands Management, Environmental Education, Sustainability, or Cross-Disciplinary.
