Dance Minor

The dance minor at UNCW was created to provide a strong technical dance base along with an opportunity to explore dance in the community, giving students an appreciation of dance as an art form with a strong cultural and social perspective. The Wilmington dance community is vibrant and strong, allowing students to experience dance in many forms in both the studio and in performance, including ballet, modern, musical theatre, opera, hip hop, and global dance forms including African, Latin, Indian, or other international dance styles.

A total of 19 credit hours are required for the completion of the minor.

Requirements for a Dance Minor: 19 hours


Required Core: 4 credit hours


Dance Technique: 9 credit hours


Choose 3 from the following classes:

Electives: 6 credit hours


Choose 2 of the following classes:

Total: 19 Hours
