Coaching & Mentoring Certificate is a post-baccalaureate certificate program.
For students who have completed a Bachelor’s Degree, they will be required to complete 12 credit hours of the EDL 500 level courses.
For students who have completed a Master’s Degree, they will be required to complete 12 credit hours of the EDL 600 level courses.

Certificate Program Objectives
Coaching is a strengths-based process that facilitates inevitable change in intentional ways. Whether the change is personal or organizational, it is a transformational tool that focuses on what could and should be and builds on what is already working. Grounded in evidence-based research, this program prepares you to coach in any context and aligns with the core competencies of the International Coaching Federation.
The Coaching and Mentoring Certificate is designed to enhance the leadership qualities and professionals who desire to effectively mentor and coach individuals in various settings. Grounded in the latest research in mentoring and coaching, the program provides graduate students (from any discipline) the opportunity to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective mentors, and coaches through a variety of diverse learning opportunities and hands-on experience with a focus on the principles of mentoring and coaching.

The minimum admission standards for candidates for the Coaching and Mentoring Certificate program are:
To apply for admission to the Coaching and Mentoring Certificate program, the candidate must submit the following:
- An application for graduate admission. Students currently enrolled in a graduate program may elect to take some or all of the courses in the certificate program (all courses must be taken and passed with no less than a grade of C in all courses to receive the Certificate).
- Official transcripts of all prior university or college coursework.
- Professional resume and personal statement delineating professional background, future goals, and how obtaining the Certificate of Coaching and Mentoring helps in meeting stated goals.
- Application and supplemental documents must be submitted by the published deadline.
Certificate Requirements
The program requires a minimum of 12 credit hours. Students must complete:
