Concentration Objectives
Upon completion of the Evaluation and Organizational Learning concentration, students will be able to:
1. Apply the fundamental norms and values underlying evaluation practice, including the standards, guidelines, and competencies of the discipline.
2. Demonstrate awareness of self as evaluator (knowledge, skills, and dispositions) and reflect on personal evaluation practice (competencies and areas for growth).
3. Act and interact ethically through evaluation practice that demonstrates integrity and respect for all people.
4. Apply evaluation theory, approaches, and methodologies.
5. Address evaluation context, including the unique circumstances, multiple perspectives, and changing settings of evaluations and their users/stakeholders.
6. Facilitate evaluation use and capacity building.
7. Manage the evaluation, including developing proposals and contracts, resource allocation and coordination, and monitoring progress.
8. Apply effective interpersonal skills, including communication, facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
9. Engage in culturally responsive evaluation practice, including addressing issues of privilege and power, and facilitating constructive and culturally responsive interactions throughout the evaluation.
Admission Requirements
Bachelor’s degree completed before graduate study begins.
• Three recommendations from individuals who can attest to the qualifications of the applicant for admission to this program.
• One official transcript is required from each U.S. post-secondary institution attended.
• Statement of Interest Essay should describe educational and professional experiences, reasons for pursuing this degree, and contributions that the applicant plans to make upon degree completion.
