Environmental Sciences, B.A.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in environmental sciences emphasizes a combination of social science, humanities and natural sciences. The B.A. in environmental sciences prepares students for entry-level positions in many diverse fields, including urban and regional planning, environmental impact analysis, natural resource management, environmental education, conservation administration, energy policy, public interest lobbying, social science law, government and business.
 

Oral Communication Requirement:


To satisfy the oral communication requirement for the B.A. or B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences, a student must successfully complete EVS 495 .

Applied Learning Requirement:


To satisfy the applied learning requirement for the B.A. or the B.S. degree in Environmental Sciences, a student must successfully complete one of the following: honors in any approved department related to EVS or EVS 499  (6 credits); directed individual study involving hands-on experience in any approved department related to EVS or EVS 491  (minimum 1 credit); practical experience in the profession (minimum 1 credit) in EVS 490 EVS 497 , or formal student teaching experience (e.g. EDN 411 ).

Total: 28 hours


Requirements for a Major in Environmental Sciences for the B.A. Degree:


68 hours total, comprised of the General Core plus option requirements.
