Dr. Elizabeth Fugate-Whitlock, coordinator
The School of Health and Applied Human Sciences offers an interdisciplinary minor in gerontology which focuses on the study of older adults and the aging process. The minor draws faculty from a variety of disciplines, such as sociology, psychology, public health, recreation therapy, gerontology, and social work. The minor is designed for students with a general interest in aging, and will help prepare students for careers that involve working with older adults. Coursework encourages students to obtain field experience in local agencies serving older adults. Students should contact the coordinator for additional information.
