The College of Arts and Science offers an interdisciplinary minor in science, the humanities and society (SHS) that offers the student an appreciation of complex scientific, technological and societal problems and achievements within a philosophical and historical context. Students augment core requirements with courses chosen from anthropology, biology, chemistry, economics, environmental studies, geography, history, philosophy, physics, psychology and sociology. Students should contact the coordinator in the Department of Biology and Marine Biology for additional information.

Requirements for a Minor in Science, the Humanities and Society:
Electives:
- 12 additional credits of designated SHS courses are required to complete the minor.
Six credits must be from a single department, the other six credits must be from two other departments. Six of the 12 credits must be at the 300 or 400 level.
Additional Information:
A “C” (2.00) average is required of all courses counted toward the minor. Students should contact the coordinator for a list of current designated courses. |
