CHM 486  -  Fundamentals of Heterocycles with Emphasis on Pharmaceuticals

Well over half of all known organic compounds and most pharmaceuticals are heterocyles (containing an atom other than C in the ring), yet their chemistry is hardly touched on in conventional courses. Topics include the nomenclature, properties, synthesis, and pharmaceutical applications of heterocycles.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisite Courses: CHM 212  with a minimum grade of C
Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated.
