COM 365  -  Media, Identity and Difference


Examines representations of difference (of ability, socioeconomic class, gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, etc.) and identity in media. Key debates regarding media representations of minorities as well as strategies to promote and create more diverse and inclusive representations will be explored. Students will engage in critique of media artifacts through writing and primary research.

Credit Hours: 3

Prerequisite Courses: COM 104  or COM 105  or COM 160  
Additional Restrictions/Requirements: Prerequisite courses or consent of instructor.
Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated.
