MAT 376 - Introduction to Optimization Introduction to linear and nonlinear optimizations, emphasizing the underlying mathematical structures, geometric ideas, algorithms, and solutions of practical problems. Topics covered include: formulations, the geometry of linear optimization, duality theory, the simplex method, sensitivity analysis, integer programming, and network flows, optimal conditions for unconstrained and constrained optimizations, and numerical method for nonlinear optimization.
