GLY 560 - Advanced Stratigraphy Course Description: Advanced-level theoretical and practical analysis of the description, organization, classification, and interpretation of layered rock successions. Apsects of both surface and subsurface analysis of stratigraphic data. Use of lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, chemostratigraphy, and magnetostratigraphy to elucidate earth history. In-depth study of cyclic and sequence stratigraphy. Field trips; fees may be required. Two lecture and three laboratory hours per week.
