SED 366 - The Teaching of Functional Skills


Examination of procedures for identifying and teaching functional skills to persons with severe intellectual disabilities. Students will assess and design programs to address skills in the domains of: personal management/self-care, daily living, vocation, career development, residential and independent living, recreation/leisure/play skills, and social skills. Course emphasis is analysis of skill requirements using an ecological inventory approach to instruction. The lab for this course is SEDL 366 .

Credit Hours: 2

Corequisite Courses: SEDL 366 .
Prerequisite Courses: SED 364 SED 367 , SED 365 , and SEDL 365 .
Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated. Maximum Repeatable Hours: 2
