HST 208 - Jewish History from 1492 to the Present Survey of Jewish history from the expulsion of the Jews from Spain to the modern era. Examination of how the different Jewish communities worldwide have met the challenges of a modernizing world. Topics include emancipation, religious reform and secularization, mass migrations, anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, and the founding of modern Israel.
