ATR 590 - Research Methods and Evidence-Based Medicine Course Description: This course focuses on the process of development and application of research methods in Athletic Training. Content will include the process of developing a research question, conducting a literature review, developing a hypothesis, choosing statistical methodology, as well as the process of submitting a research proposal to an Institutional Review Board. Concepts of evidence-based medicine will be introduced and provide students with knowledge on how evidence-based medicine guides clinical practice in Athletic Training. This course is also designed to cultivate the understanding of quality improvement, measurement of improvement, cost and value models within healthcare.
