ATR 565 - Pharmacology and Pathophysiology Course Description: This course will examine the basic knowledge and skills required of the professional athletic trainer on pharmacological applications, including awareness of the indications, contraindications, precautions and interactions of medications. The governing regulations relevant to the treatment of injuries and illnesses of athletes and others involved in physical activity will be reviewed. In addition, this course will describe the pathophysiology of general medical conditions and pathomechanics of musculoskeletal injuries as it relates to pharmacological interventions and treatment options.
