(HST 585) Prerequisites: HST 103 or HST 104, and HST 290, or consent of instructor. Intensive study of a selected theme in Latin American history. Examples of topics: pre-Columbian civilizations, colonial rule under Spain and Portugal, nationalism, revolutionary movements. May be repeated under a different subtitle. Partially satisfies University Studies IV: Building Competencies/Writing Intensive. Satisfies University Studies VI: Common Requirements/Critical Reasoning.
