FST 381 - History of Russian and Soviet Cinema

Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite or corequisite: FST 205 or permission of instructor. Survey of Russian and Soviet cinema from the 1900s to the present, focusing on Sergei Eisenstein, Dziga Vertov, Andrei Tarkovsky, and other directors, as well as the cultural, political, and economic forces that influenced their films. Partially satisfies University Studies IV: Building Competencies/Information Literacy.
