HST 361 - History of Modern Japan

Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite: Any HST course or consent of instructor. Historical survey of Japan from 1853. Topics include Japan’s response to Western challenge since the arrival of Commodore Perry, Japan’s emergence to an imperialist power, and Japan’s rise to a leading economic power after World War II.
