ART 365 - Typography

Prerequisite: ART 260 or permission of instructor. Overview of the conceptual, formal, and technical issues of typography. The history of typography, the anatomy of letter forms, classifications of type, visual syntax, legibility, and technology. Exercises and projects emphasize production of visual communication for print using typography as the dominant element. Six studio hours per week.
