GLY 331 - Sedimentology and Stratigraphy Credits: 4 Prerequisite: GLY 201 or GLY 205 or permission of instructor. An introduction to the observation, description, and interpretation of sediment and sedimentary rock; the physical and chemical processes controlling weathering, sediment transport, deposition, and diagenesis, and the interpretation of depositional environments and layered rock successions. Field trips; fees may be required. Three lecture and three laboratory hours each week. Partially satisfies University Studies IV: Building Competencies/Writing Intensive.
