SED 354 - Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Credits: 3
Study of etiology, characteristics and programming needs of persons with mild intellectual disabilities. Current approaches for the education of persons with mild disabilities in a variety of settings and across the life span will be included. Students will be expected to develop a basic knowledge of the various aspects of mild disabilities and use that knowledge to make informed decisions about appropriate practices in the education of this population. At least 15 field experience hours required in a high school class focusing on the North Carolina Occupational Course of Study. Satisfies University Studies V: Explorations Beyond the Classroom.
