PAR 221 - Mindfulness and Racial JusticeIntroduction to mindfulness and its application to racial justice issues and efforts. Explores mindfulness as a contemplative practice and discusses its similarities and differences with religious contemplative practices of meditation, prayer, silence, and stillness. Adopts an intersectional approach that considers interlocking systems of oppression in the United States. Credit Hours: 3 University Studies: Approaches and Perspectives/Historical and Philosophical Approaches/Living in a Diverse Nation, Explorations Beyond the Classroom Course Repeatability: Course may not be repeated.
