Isaac Bear Early College High School Students

Isaac Bear Early College High School opened in the fall of 2006 as a partnership between the North Carolina New Schools Project, New Hanover County Schools and the University of North Carolina Wilmington. As an early college high school, students participate in an

accelerated high school education program which offers honors courses to prepare students for the rigor of college.

Students enrolled in UNCW classes while enrolled at Isaac Bear Early College High School will be governed by the academic policies of the UNCW catalogue. Upon admission to UNCW, Isaac Bear Early College High School graduates will begin as degree seeking undergraduates. Such students will maintain the cumulative GPA and credit hours earned. However, all other policies will restart as if the student was not enrolled during high school.
