FST 376 - American Cinema 1927-1960

Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite or corequisite: FST 205  or permission of instructor. History and aesthetics of American cinema from the beginning of sound film until the break-up of the studio system, focusing on the height of the Hollywood studio era. Classical genres and styles, and prominent Hollywood filmmakers. Three lectures hours and two screening hours each week. Partially satisfies University Studies IV: Building Competencies/Information Literacy.
