GLY 516 - Sedimentary Petrology Course Description: Classification and description of siliciclastic carbonate, chemical, and carbonaceous sedimentary rocks. In-depth study of sedimentary depositional environments. Advanced aspects of weathering, erosion, transportation, deposition, burial, and lithification. Laboratory exercises concentrate on microscopic and chemical analytical techniques. Field trips; fees may be required. Two lecture and three laboratory hours per week.
