SOC 220 - Sociology of Death and Dying Credits: 3
Examination of the sociological dimensions of death in modern society. The social organizational and cultural dimensions of death will be considered in terms of rites of passage, bureaucratization, social movements, cultural differences, and historical and contemporary contexts. Partially satisfies University Studies II: Approaches and Perspectives/Understanding Human Institutions and Behaviors. Partially satisfies University Studies III: Thematic Transdisciplinary Cluster/Public Health and Human Development/Human Behavior.
