(CLA 209 ) Prerequisite or corequisite: ENG 103  or ENG 201 , or consent of instructor. Major authors of ancient Greece and Rome. Emphasis on ancient literature in its social context and on classical themes in later literatures. May be repeated under a different subtitle. Partially satisfies University Studies II: Approaches and Perspectives/Aesthetic, Interpretive, and Literary Perspectives. Partially satisfies University Studies III: Thematic Transdisciplinary Cluster/Ancient Thought and Culture.
