Dear Students,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it is my honor to welcome you to the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

You’ve joined a wonderful campus community that values creative inquiry, critical thinking and global citizenship.  UNCW is known for the quality of its students, faculty and staff.  Our university is recognized as one of the five best public master’s universities in the South and is nationally known for its efforts to expand access to higher education for military-affiliated students.  There is more to UNCW than our esteemed programs; it is a community of scholars committed to excellence, integrity, diversity, innovation and globalization.

I encourage you to make the most of your time while at UNCW. Whether you are involved in club or community leadership activities, diverse cultural experiences, applied learning and other research programs or study abroad, you will find your UNCW experiences will aid you in becoming engaged citizens and future leaders.
